Our children’s lives are precious.
Accordingly, we take the care and stewardship of their development seriously.
At Glory and Power Ministries we recognize that all of the life that God gives is precious.
This is why child dedication is an important part of what we do.
Parents have the opportunity to follow in the example set in the Biblical story of Hannah.
‘I prayed for this child, and the Lord has granted me what I asked of him.
So now I give him to the Lord. For his whole life, he will be given to the Lord.’ – 1 Samuel 1:27-28
Child dedication is a commitment made by both the parents and the church, to provide an opportunity for the child to
know and experience what it means to follow Jesus.
Parents take the voluntary step to present their children and themselves to God. This commitment extends to faithfully fulfill their parental responsibilities to train their child in a biblically centred environment, and by being a Godly example, by modelling for their child how to walk in a personal relationship with Jesus.
Parents also acknowledge their need for prayerful support from the church congregation in their efforts to do so.
At Glory and Power Ministries when your child is dedicated, we also commit ourselves to participate in the raising of the child through our children and youth programs. We will aim to encourage the child in such as way as to be a positive witness of what the love of God can do in each life, – with the ultimate aim that the child would make an informed decision to follow Jesus.
We perform child dedications during our Sunday services upon request. Scheduling is based upon parental and guest availability.
We encourage you to invite the family and the friends who will also impact the life of the child, encouraging them to attend and participate in this special day.
We like to discuss the order of service in advance with our host parents and visiting families so that they know what to expect.
We will reserve the front section seating for guests and family until they are invited up for the formal dedication part of the Sunday program.
