At Glory and Power Ministries, our vision is to help many great families have a healthy connection with God
and with each other.
Our vision: A thriving and growing community connected to God and each other through
our common faith in Jesus Christ.
In keeping with our mission statement we recognize that the LOVE described by the Apostle Paul in his letter to the church at Corinth, serves as an example telling us what unselfish Love looks and acts like:
1 Corinthians 13: 4-8
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonour others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8 Love never fails.
While we recognize that this is indeed a powerful way of living to aspire to, as a church – we strive to learn and improve as individuals so that we may be able to say with honesty:
Accordingly, we focus on being engaged in the following:
We seek to live Christ centred lives, directed by God, and empowered by the Holy Spirit.
We will communicate and act in ways that people can understand. We will speak the truth to empower people as they move forward in their walk with God.
Matthew 22:36-40 ” ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.’ ” This charge given to the church means that outreach to our community is required to demonstrate our love.
We recognize that service to those we reach though our outreach efforts is paramount. We strive to focus on the lessons and principles taught by God that people need for their lives today.
We will take action and not simply use idle words. Matthew 28:19-20 describes the Great Commission – “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with your always, to the very end of the age.”
We seek to live Christ centred lives, directed by God, and empowered by the Holy Spirit. We recognize that service to others and the use and application of personal gifting in the Kingdom of God is critical. We aim to learn and pass on principles to developing leaders for their effective stewardship of the blessings received from God.
We will invite all people, regardless of their story, into our Sunday Services. Matthew 11:28-30 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
We as a church make the commitment to walk with you as you learn God’s principles and grow through the transformative relationship with the Holy Spirit.
We will look forward, work hard, and not settle for only working a few hours a week on things that matter. Colossians 3:23 “Whatever you do, work at it will all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward.”
In order to accomplish our mission, we acknowledge an established and authoritative set of core principles which keep us on track. They remind us of what is important to ground us on solid rock from day to day.
